"Arts Group Challenges
Non-Profits to "Represent Chicago"

The City of Stockholm Sweden hosts the prestigious "Stockholm Challenge" - a world-wide socially-relevant contest for on-line projects and agency websites. This event is positioned to be the Pulitzer of the on-line world. Lars Malmsten, Project Search Coordinator of "The Stockholm Challenge Award" e-mailed www.art-teez.org challenging its producer, the Uptown Multi-Cultural Art Center (UM-CAC), to apply. "They asked us to invite others to enter," said UM-CAC Director, Mr. Drew.

Mr. Drew notes that the judges are an international sampling of Internet Who's-Who. "I sense advantages for everyone," Mr. Drew observed. "Chicago should be well represented in this world forum. The e-mail extending the challenge requested we not hide this opportunity."

Take the challenge at www.challenge.stockholm.se

UM-CAC entered its international art contest - ART-ACT and has posted at www.art-teez.org/pr/challeng.htm its response to the questions the contest asks as a sample for other writers. Writers for agencies taking the Stockholm Challenge can find hundreds of responses from around the world at www.challenge.stockholm.se if they want to jump start their imaginations.

Deadline for on-line applications is April 1st, 2001.

This project is supported by Chicago artists and small public donations.
