Art Everywear, Everywhere! June 12, 2005 |
|
The Uptown Multi-Cultural Art Center's (UM-CAC) cable TV program "Printing T-shirt Art" will air every Thursday at 6:30 pm on Channel 21 beginning July 7 and ending September 29th. We will show artists (or anyone else) how to print (art) on t-shirts. Moreover, our community arts group will share its secrets, gained from thirteen years of printing art on t-shirts, on how to build and operate a low-cost screen print workshop producing wearable art. Our motto is ART EVERYWEAR! We will introduce artists who have printed in our "Screen Print Workshop for Artists" or who appear on our website, art-teez.org, or in our many "Art of the T-shirt" exhibits from the past fifteen years. Listen for stories from our exhibits. We will post illustrated screen print how-to topics from the show on art-teez.org to encourage artists to make ART EVERYWEAR. On this site you will find a brand of in-your-face art by a wild mix of Chicago artists presenting a growing body of wearable art. Political, cultural, and thought-provoking art - art that springs from the grass-roots and which is growing toward the light of an expanding audience. This site, art-teez.org, gets 3,500 unique visitors a week from around the world. Participating artists from Chicago and from around the world are finding a flourishing forum for their wearable art through art-teez.org. Do you like art? Do you want to know more about printing on cloth? Are you an artist who wants to print her/his art? See this show on Chicago Cable Channel 21 to make ART EVERYWEAR, everywhere! -30- |
