The Board of the Uptown Multi-Cultural Art Center looked at our $500 left over at the end of our fiscal year, (8/31) $11,700 in income minus expenses of 11, 200, and decided we could save and refuse to spend $500 for a year as our part of the Prize money to the winning artist in September 2000. We will put $500 in an escrow account within this week to await the winning artist. We are seeking donations from the public to help raise this amount and make more prizes available to artists. Checks can be made out to UM-CAC and sent to P.O. Box 408363, Chicago, IL 60640. Let us know if you wish to have us announce your name in ART-ACT Notes.

This week we continue to seek volunteers at colleges and universities to help us promote ART-ACT.
