********** ART-ACT NOTES **********

1) ART-ACT IV Fast Start

ART-ACT IV is open for submissions. Already we have ten works
entered in ART-ACT, our fastest start yet. Due to an oversight
Christopher Henderson's artwork was not included with the judging
of ART-ACT III so it has been entered in ART-ACT IV.

2) CONTEST POLICY CHANGE!

Three contests, over five years, several hundred WebPages later
and we are still defining the policies for ART-ACT by doing it.
Many artists have shown and are showing still. Only two have
requested that they be erased from our history. Our policy on
removal from our history will be discussed in the next ART-ACT
Notes. Now, we have a policy change of greater significance to
all active artists.

ART-ACT contest categories have changed. Previously only black
and white line copy could be entered in the main Black and White
category. Designs with shades of gray were lumped with color
artwork. Now - for ART-ACT IV - Black and White will include
all black and white images - including gray toned work. Color
will be just that - art with color. This has already been
announced in the ART-ACT Rules page

3) Summary of Local Activities

We are painting masonite panel 12-20" X 48" to display our many
one-of-a-kind and screen printed works of art collected from 15
years of community "Art of the T-shirt" exhibits. Our goal is to
transfer the art by next fall for our "T-shirt Art Harvest Festival."

Most Sundays from 3-6pm basic screen-printing techniques are
taught to artists free. This 4-6 session workshop gives artists
an introduction to photo screen print process with the basic
materials and equipment for the least amount of money showing
them how to produce a product they can supplement their
income with.

Your many pens - are stronger than the swords! Thank You!

4) THANK YOU TO SUBMITTING ARTISTS

Thanks again for building a response to hatred. More and more
people will recognize that this is a valid forum. We are building
this so you and your work can serve mankind and receive attention
from an international audience.

Because we are a group of community artists struggling for a voice
we value your expressions. We promise to post your expressions as
long as you want us to.

We will continue to post your statements and links to your other
art on the Internet as you inform us. We are here to serve artists
to the best of our ability.

5) ARTISTS - Sell Your Art

Go to http://www.art-teez.org/license.htm to printout,
fill-out and send to us a signed license agreement to market your
art on T-shirts. You receive $2.00 per t-shirt sold. We will be
promoting the art we have licensed with increasing intensity in
the coming months and years.

We are building our organization slowly to be able to sell art on
t-shirts to help fund an inner-city arts agency that hosts art
classes for youth and other community residents. We have dedicated
ourselves to this task without pay for 15 years because we know
it is needed and that government and civic leaders have ignored
our needs. We ask artists to respect this mission and to realize
that our license agreement is "artist friendly" in that is pays
an above industry standard and is not an exclusive contract so
the artist is free to market their designs anywhere else including
on their own website that our site links to. Please sign and
send us your license agreement today.
