********** ART-ACT NOTES **********

1) ART-ACT III Submissions Complete

Art-Act III received its last submission by postal
mail post dated before 8/1/04 and the last image was
posted online Friday (8/13/04). I still have to update
the page with thumbnail graphics from the art but the
text link page is posted at

http://www.art-teez.org/ara_art3_txtw.htm

Our Board of Directors along with artists from our Screen
Print Workshop for Artists will be judging this contest
Sunday, August 29th. It will be a lot of fun with food and
discussion. This gathering of community artists will come up
with a winner that will be announced at our T-shirt Art
Harvest Party opening on Friday, September 17th. The winner
and the written comments of the judges will be posted earlier
that day on our website.

Artists, you win even if you do not take home the prize. We
are building toward a very important line of t-shirt designs
that will find wholesale outlets eventually. To be part of
this you must have signed and sent to us a license agreement
found at

http://www.art-teez.org/license.htm
Another goal is to develop a curriculum around select images
and other possibilities are likely to result based on the
growing attention this on-going exhibit and contest continues
to receive. If we can not contact you – you can not be included
in these opportunities. Keep us updated. Always send us links
to websites that feature your work. We want to continue to post
your work an encourage you to use it proudly to promote your
art online.

2) ART-ACT IV Begins
ART-ACT IV is open for submissions. Do not wait – submit the
designs that missed this last deadline.

3) Summary of Local Activities

This local event is held at the American Indian Center in Chicago
at 1630 W. Wilson. Every Sunday from 3-6pm basic screen-printing
techniques are taught to artists free. This 4-6 session workshop
gives artists an introduction to photo screen print process with
the basic materials and equipment for the least amount of money
showing them how to produce a product they can supplement their
income with.

Our cable TV show on Chicago cable Channel 21 airs every Tuesday
from 6-6:30 through the end of September.

Your many pens - are stronger than the swords! Thank You!

4) THANK YOU TO SUBMITTING ARTISTS

Thanks again for building a response to hatred. More and more
people will recognize that this is a valid forum. We are building
this so you and your work can receive attention from an international
audience.

Because we are a group of community artists struggling for a voice
we value your expressions. We promise to post your expressions as
long as you want us to.

We will continue to post your statements and links to your other
art on the Internet as you inform us. We are here to serve artists
to the best of our ability.

5) ARTISTS - Sell Your Art

Go to http://www.art-teez.org/license.htm to printout, fill out
and send to us a signed license agreement to market your art on
T-shirts. You receive $2.00 per t-shirt sold. We will be promoting
the art we have licensed with increasing intensity in the coming
months and years.

We are building our organization slowly to be able to sell art
on t-shirts to help fund an inner-city arts agency that hosts
art classes for youth and other community residents. We have
dedicated ourselves to this task without pay for 15 years because
we know it is needed and that government and civic leaders have
ignored our needs. We ask artists to respect this mission and to
realize that our license agreement is "artist friendly" in that
is pays an above industry standard and is not an exclusive contract
so the artist is free to market their designs anywhere else including
on their own website that our site links to. Please sign and send us
your license agreement today.
