Hello,
See Art by a new artist, Rob Bonner, at ART-ACT
http://www.art-teez.org/artist/rb1.htm
The theme, the question, yes my reason to write these tiny pieces is to explain my view of art & society - of the function art has for me, with some super short stories I've gleaned from working in community settings and in paying those dues. These strokes will be broad and fast.
Blew it today! The temp agency called while I was on-line promoting ART-ACT. I got the message just a minute too late. Well the dishes are done. The agenda for the rest of the day - get copies from a copy shop to use for our screen making. We have a small job printing t-shirts for the Newberry Library.
Our screen print workshop is our saving grace and an integral part of our long term self-sufficiency plan. This exploration of the t-shirt print market will become a training program once funded or once we can fund ourselves. Presently, it provides the supplies to manage our screen print workshop for artists.
That's right, the Screen Print Workshop for artists grew out of the "Art of the T-shirt" exhibit series showing artists from around Chicagoland in public libraries for a decade. These workshop graphic prints are a style imposed by our need to involve many artists with little money for supplies and equipment. We studied the easiest methods to teach - the least toxic inks and the cheapest methods to replicate should an artist wish to become independent. This screened art for t-shirts is going up on our website now at

Watch it slowly grow. We just keep crawling along.
