ART-ACT Notes 1 -- Newsletter of the "Anti-Racist T-shirt Art Contest Tour"
© 1999 by the Uptown Multi-Cultural Art Center - All Rights Reserved

Hello,

This list is going to grow. Dispatches will be kept short.

We need to build our e-committee. I propose our e-committee receives and reads our "Anti-Racist T-shirt Art Contest Tour" newsletter, "ART-ACT Notes". The Newsletter consists the latest developments with ART-ACT and a discussion of issues related to building this international art contest and exhibit by e-committee members. Summaries of and links to hot discussion topics will alert you to input opportunities in other discussion threads on our site. For the moment e-committee members are invited or may apply from reading about us off line through our materials and media coverage or through our Internet promotions. Later as the e-committee becomes active we can work out policy for all details required by experience.

Our intention is to build input to our first discussion thread - the E-committee Discussion List. By Saturday, June 6th, the page E-com.htm will be up. At this moment a rough page called "help_ara.htm is posted with ways you or anyone else can help. I will be adding to this idea over the next several weeks until it is presentable and other pages supporting it are on-line too. Then we will do our next artist mailing and include a greater list of potential volunteers inviting new e-committee members. We have no money yet to offer prizes. We have no staff. If you think ART-ACT is a good idea - you should consider helping. To start - commit to reviewing the E-com.htm page in a week and make a comment about the issues represented.

Already an artist is suggesting this is a bad direction for the "Art of the T-shirt" to take. Do you agree or disagree.

Chris
