Artist's Statement
We Are All Related Oil on canvas 1999: 60" x 48"
We are only one race of people, the human race, all descended from
the same ancestor, that first human being who walked upright,
hundreds of thousands of years ago. Our differences make each of us
unique. Our diversity insures survival and strengthens us against
disease and environmental disasters. These differences should not
divide us or turn us against each other, for we are as tiny as ants
when viewed from the clouds. The earth is vast; the universe even
vaster. All the more reason that, like ants, we should recognize our
commonality and work together to build a safe and happy home on earth.
