Artist Bio
Born and raised in Cambridge, MA, Leslie Stewart started her creative life drawing and writing at a young age. She became socially and politically active while in high school and continued on that path, working as an advocate, activist and teacher for 11 years in the social services field. Leslie gravitated to photography and film/video in the early 90s, while continuing to write, and as a result of having used computers since 1982, she started creating digital art in 1996. Leslie left the social services field in 1999 for a career in new media, and currently works as a freelance web designer/developer, computer/software trainer and consultant under the name impermanentmedia, and serves as the Creative and Technical Director for Neighbor 360: The Interactive Community Directory. She also runs impermanentmediaPress, a micro-mini self-publishing studio, that serves as an outlet for some of her more analog projects.
