ABOUT THE ARTIST Anne Pyterek
"My name is Anne Victoria Pyterek, and this is my art work. Ancient archetypal images of Woman, though denied and suppressed for millennia, are still relevant in our modern lives. My work is an attempt to portray the archetypes that I have uncovered, living in my own heart. An overly long, painful struggle to find the meaning and birthright of my own femaleness finally climaxed with the ecstatic homebirth of my second child. From this birthing came images of the essence of Womanhood, along with the irresistible urge (like pushing!) to recreate this imagery for others. I give to you my vision of a world healed and made whole through the integrity of Our Mother. Through my art, I intent to continually come to know and, intern, pass on to you, every single one of those Thousand Aspects of Her. I have only begun, I have barely scratched the surface."
