Precious in His Sight by Shannon Burns
Artist's Statement
Though I've been a Christian for several years, my artwork doesn't
usually reflect this overtly. But with this image I tried to find a
simple way of countering the view that Christianity is racist, or the
"white man's religion", because it's anything but. To quote the old
truism: "Red, yellow, black, white: we are precious in His sight."
About the Artist
Logo design has always been a passion of Shannon's. At the age of two he
was copying them off of cereal and detergent boxes. His interest in
cartooning began around the same time.
Today he's older, and a freelance designer/humorous illustrator whose
work has appeared in the Wall Street Journal and Saturday Evening Post,
among many others. Whether he's designing logos or drawing cartoons,
simplicity is what he strives for in his work. To see more of it, please
