Latinos by Carlos E. Jimenez

Artist's Statement Carlos Jimenez was the Art Director of "Calles y Suenos" in 1992 when he attended our Screen Print Workshop for Artists. This poetry and art magazine featured the work of Latino poets and artists. When the burden of organizing the magazine fell on too few hands, Carlos found part-time employment hand painting t-shirts for a popular local artist for a while. Today, he has a store where he sells his paintings at the corner of North Avenue and Oakley in Chicago. The Carlos E Jimenez Gallery is the main artery of artwork featured by three Chicago-born Latino brothers, Carlos E Jimenez, Miguel A Jimenez, and Mitchell Lara. They are located at: 2301 W North Ave, Chicago, IL 60647, and also in "Studio 320" in the Flat Iron Arts Building, 1579 N Milwaukee. Give them a visit. |
