Bio
Milenka was born in France during the Second World War and is a
survivor of the
holocaust. her First teacher was her mother who drew and made ceramic.
Milenka had her first exhibition while at elementary school: she was
chosen to present her work in the "Salon de l'Enfance." Later she
studied at "Ecole de dessin de la Ville de Paris" and followed the
course on Egyptology at the "Musee duj Louvre."
When her family moved to Geneva, Switzerland, Milenka presented
drawings at "Gallery Vanier" and studied with Master jean Roll. Later
she lived in London, England, and studied with Master Felix Topolsky.
She has lived in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where she married and worked
as an artist. Milenka has been featured in galleries in Buenos Aires
(Van Riel, Lirolay, Witcomb and others) with one woman shows. She has
participated in many group exhibitions in BA as well as other cities in
Argentina and abroad.
Ms. Milenka has received awards in painting, drawings, video and
photography. Her work can be found in private collections in the US,
Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil, France, Switzerland, Italy, India and
Australia.
She moved to Miami in 2000 and after a parenthesis of three
years (she is a survivor of breast cancer) she showed her work
at the Jewish Museum, Florida International University, Temple Beth
Sholom, Dora Teitelboim Center for Yiddish Culture, Temple Emanuel,
Haitian Association Against Cancer, Sylvester Comprehensive
Cancer Center, Temple Beth el, Boca Raton, and Katie Stauffer Art
Center, Richlandtown, PA.
Milenka has currently different series ready for exhibition: A Cancer
Chronicle - Jewish Festivities - Postcards from Miami - Kabala - and
she is working on a new theme: "The Feminine Shoe."
