Artist's Statement

Hi, my name’s Libby, and I’m currently 19 years old.
I thought maybe this might make me feel a little better.

About this piece I title,"We love twins!" As you can see in the center, it's basically a picture of a girl; however, the same image is repeated inside of her eyes. I wanted to; I guess in an awkward way, express the way certain close-minded individuals would like to see the world. Though, the girl herself is saddened by such an image, because she appreciates her own individual self, and refuses to ever accept a flat world with no color. What's ironic about this piece is that it is also in grayscale (which I hope isn't a problem); therefore, this raises the question: Who would ever want to be happy in a repetitive world with no color? On the other hand, I added the little twin remark, so people kind of take the whole piece lightly. I wanted this to be fun, light hearted, and a little strange. Everyone could use a little of all three every now and then, know what I mean?
