Artist's Statement

Andrew H. Shim was born in 1990 in New Haven. After living in America for four years his family went back to Korea. He lived there for ten years and came back to America in 2002. He is now in 9th grade attending Spring Brook High School. His interests are in music, drawing, and writing stories. Andrew spends his time drawing and reading books that can inspire him to write imaginative stories. A family trip to the Peabody Museum of Natural History near Yale University in his early years influenced him to like science, science fiction books and magazines. Andrew dreams to become a successful science fiction author, incorporating his self-illustrated images.
