What's the Difference

What's the Difference by Serge Jean

Artist's Statement

My name is Serge Jean, born on November 15, 1987 in Miami, Florida; drawing has come to be my number one priority. It kept my mind focus, and helps me express myself in ways words can describe. People often are confuse that someone as tall as 6"2 weighing 220 can be so talented with such a tiny paint brush. How someone who always have an angry expression on his face can paint pretty flowers and other forms of peace. I don't let these comments get in my way. Instead I turn the comments into something positive. There is one thing I would like to confess however. I have never in my life have seen a white person in my life. Nor have I met a black person. I do however meet many people who describe themselves as such. That is the one thing I don't understand. Why would people call themselves as such when they are so far away from those colors? I've seen beautifully dark people of Africa with a hint of brown on their skin. I've seen people all around with an apricot color on their skin. Some with a hint of tan and a drop of yellow. There's more then one color in a person's skin.
