PETTY CASH ADJUSTMENTS
Peachtree Accounting Instructions
I start by inputting the store receipts and the occasional form detailing a
transaction through the Receipts window making the "Cash Account" text box on
the right hand tab of the receipt form in the "Receipts" window.

After all other receipts are in - from check book and the Credit Union
Savings (1005M00) account report and T-shirt Art (1005M02) account report
then I begin to reconcil accounts. I reconsile the Checking account (1000M00)
first using the check book and the Credit Union monthly reports for both checking
and savings. This helps to reconsile the savings account because it identifies
transfers between the two. It also is a record of the checks that have come in
and which have not. Once I am able to find all the unaccounted for transactions
and balance the Checking Account - I reconcile the Savings account. Either of
these two accounts could add funds to the Petty Cash fund. There fore I reconcile
it last.
How I should input petty cash additions using Peachtree Account is still worthty
of discussion. I have been making additions during the reconciliation process
instead of some other journal entry process. What is the recommended way to
address this?
